Frequently Ask Questions:
Western Red Cedar - A durable straight grained, moderately low-density wood of the western U.S.; used extensively for construction where durability is important. This wood has a velvety/radiant look, red to golden-blond red in color with natural preservative oils that make it resistant to moisture and insects.
Clear Wood - Refers to wood being 99% free of knots.
Vertical Grain - Wood cut on a plane approximately at right angles to the annual rings of the tree. This type of cutting is one of the most expensive and unusual cuts of wood.
Screens & Screen Frame - Fiberglass, charcoal color screen material is standard. Screen material is easily replaced if damaged. Screen material is mounted into an aluminum screen frame.
Decorative Wood Screen Frame Back - Optional item on all door styles $55.00, cedar frame over the aluminum screen frame giving a more finished appearance.
Door Finish - Doors are unfinished. It is recommended that you finish or stain the doors within 2 weeks of purchase. We recommend Penofin® Exterior Products: Original Blue Label Oil Wood Finish
